ESTABLISHMENT OF MOSQUES TO FUNCTION AS COMMUNITY PRAYER SPACES

Thanks to the support of Emirates Red Crescent, Aliwa Education and Community Development has persisted in its efforts, which include the building of mosques in various regions throughout Uganda. This particular mosque was built in Namaganda, Kamuli District.

Community members welcomed the grand opening of the mosque and participated in their first Juma prayer on that day.

PROVISION OF HOME ESSENTIALS AND SUPPORT FOR EVERYDAY LIVING NEEDS.

With generous support from Emirates Red Crescent, through Aliwa Education and Community Development, surveys to identify and help people in need have been ongoing for an extended period. These efforts have been crucial in reaching vulnerable communities. This particular lady in Lugazi was identified by a dedicated community leader who recognized her plight and the difficulties she faced.

In a compassionate gesture, she was provided with a duvet cover that she was lacking, which has significantly contributed to improving her quality of life and helped to make her nights better and more comfortable. Such initiatives not only provide tangible support but also foster a sense of connection and hope among those who might feel forgotten in times of hardship.

We constructed a borehole in Namwendwa, Kamuli District with generous support from Emirates Red Crescent. This initiative has significantly improved access to clean and safe drinking water for the local community, enhancing the quality of life for many families. The project not only alleviates the burden of water scarcity but also contributes to better health outcomes, as clean water is crucial in preventing waterborne diseases. The community has expressed immense gratitude for this support, which has made a transformative impact on their daily lives, allowing children to spend more time in school and less time fetching water. Overall, this collaboration showcases the power of partnerships in addressing critical issues within rural areas.

PROVISION OF CLOTHING TO VULNERABLE CHILDREN.

We believe that every child deserves dignity, comfort, and opportunity to thrive at Aliwa Education and Community Development. As part of our ongoing commitment to support underserved communities, we recently distributed new clothes to children from vulnerable families with help from Emirates Red Crescent.

The majority of these children face daily challenges due to financial hardship, and access to basic necessities such as proper clothing is often limited. Through this initiative, our team ensured they received clean, well-fitting clothes to help boost their confidence, well-being, and sense of belonging. This specific group was identified in Bwaise,Kawempe Division.
